T is making me broke

Posted by Looney Tunes on September 23, 2008, at 22:39:32

Well, I have been with this T for 5 months, paying out of pocket. I can no longer afford it.

I look at all my bills and say, how can I be paying this? I don't even feel like he cares and for $300 per week (2 times per week), I should sure as hell get someone that cares about me.

I am going into more debt because to pay for him I am using credit cards, etc.

I don't own a house, my car is 8 years old, I own nothing...just tons of debt.

I feel so bad. I spent 5 months of money and got nothing; I have tried 6 therapists since moving and many of them can't deal with complex-PTSD (the ones on my insurance), and I am just tired.

From day 1, he told me he does not slide on fees. I am so stupid...

Oh thats is an awful lot of monies!!!....I think perhaps you need to find one that does have a sliding scale if you can?....having to worry to that degree isn't really helpful for you as you deal with other issues besides!..

Have you called the local hospitals and asked for referrals? Sometimes mental health agencies have really good one and a sliding fee. I could never afford that. Love Phillipa

You mentioned before that you don't talk because you feel angry, or want to take some sort of revenge on your T (at least that's the impression I had). Do you think there's any way of communicating how blocked you feel in talking?

Has your T done anything more to try to help you talk, or to offer you some response, even if you can't talk?

If you've seen six Ts, maybe it's important to really take that risk of opening up, or find some avenue to break the silence, because there might not be any other way of getting beyond or working on whatever's holding you back.

WOw, I couldn't ever afford that much and my husband makes good money too. Most T's I know don't charge full amount if clients can't pay it. How long have you been working with this T?
