Well it looks like my stress is catching up w/me

Posted by Lemonaide on August 8, 2008, at 15:07:22

I had my first migraine headache early this morning, I thought I something was seriously wrong, it hurt so bad, I was seeing shooting lights, I was nauseous, and every light and noise was banging on my head. I finally called my husband and something is really wrong. Earlier that morning he noticed I didn't eat breakfast and I couldn't look at the computer, well I woke up with a searing pain behind my eye.
So I guess this stress about my T is now getting to me physically now in a major way. They gave me 3 shots at the doctors, and after a nap, my headache is gone.
I am not sure if I can handle therapy right now, but if I don't I am not sure if the pain will go away from my past. I feel devastated about what my old T did, and there is no easy way to deal with that.

I'm glad you went into a doctor. I've heard it's important to always get a new type of headache checked out.

Stress can definitely trigger migraines. So can the sudden sensation of stress, believe it or not. My neurologist called it weekend syndrome? or maybe vacation syndrome.

I'm glad you feel better. Migraines are a b*tch.

L-

You got too much time on your hands. You think about the guy because you haven't filled in your time sink with alternative, positive stuff that makes you think about something else.

I mentioned before that friends are more fun than therapists anyway. So look some up and leave your mental detritus in the closet.

And how about some guided meditation or hypnosis. Or yoga with other women or something?

And Friday is just the right time to have that glass of wine and watch a flick.

You are looking in the wrong direction (inward) and your brain has to get turned around.

Have a good weekend.

I personally am quelling my Stürm und Drang with a rum-orange-peach-mango and Sopranos combination. Very therapeutic.

I wish I had more time on my hands, from being a homeschooling mother who is a student, a wife, grandma, and all my gardening, I rarely have time to overthink things. Plus overcoming the effects and healing of severe child abuse, and healing from what my old T has done, it takes it toll too I admit.

Plus I am still grieving my brother who died because of child abuse, and my granddaughter who lived only 28 days, 2 of my favorite aunts, and my band director who was my taught me to play the trumpet and was my teacher for over 7 years of my childhood, all within a years time. Plus I have close friends dying of breast cancer, and another one bone cancer, and of course my online friends who I care a lot about. My life is too full right now.
I guess it seems like my life is focused on therapy, but then babble only sees a small part of me on the boards. Here is my blog site if you are interested. Please leave comments if you wish. http://psychoflowers.blogspot.com/

I'm glad you went to the doctor. Please take care of yourself. You can't take care of all of those other things if you aren't well! I say that kindly of course, I overdo it all the time.
