I missed the curse!

Posted by Dinah on January 4, 2008, at 18:01:31

It was the first session back and it was just fine.

When I asked, he said he did indeed miss me, and think of me. He said when my appointment time came around and he didn't see me in his book, he thought of me and missed me. :) Can't ask for more than that.

And he was just like him, and I was just like me, and everything was ok.

so, essentially you are saying that if I give it 12 years or so of breaks, I'll get used to the reentry?

I'm glad you had a good session. I want to be nosey though - were you onto a specific topic when the break occurred? I've noticed that if it feels like an interruption, it is so much harder to get restarted.

I asked yesterday, "did you forget everything I've told you?" He said no, of course not. And then he attempted to bring us back to that spot but I couldn't go with him, at least not yet. It was raining and I told him I want to just drink hot tea and talk about books. He had his standard answer: "sounds nice, but you know that's not what we do here..." bah!

Hmmm... I don't think so. Not sure if I'd remember. I *know* he wouldn't.

I think we were talking about spirituality. He had given me a couple of books he recommended, and I mentioned today that I was partway through one. He was surprised that I had found such an obscure work, and then asked if he'd given me the name! lol.

He doesn't remember even the most difficult things from session to session, so that's not really an issue. And this time I didn't either.

I told him the topic of the week here seemed to be difficult first sessions back. And he said that that was a lot of pressure on him! So as we left, he asked what I'd report back about this session, so some things he remembers I guess. The stuff about him. :D

Oh no. I remember what we were talking about. And I don't at all mind forgetting about it.

We were talking about the impossibleness of my mother's situation and my decision not to think about it since I had no power to influence anything.

He was saying that I must feel hopeless because he feels hopeless about it and she wasn't even his mother. That he couldn't see any possible steps to take to make things better.

I don't know that I want to reopen that topic...

Last night I felt really sad and needy. It's enough to make me think I'm better off flying solo.

My theory is it(something) hits you sooner or later after a session, just the nature of the process. It's the nature of the rebound that changes over time.
