Posted by aminos4me on November 3, 2007, at 22:39:48

Hi i have just been taken on by the public health system in australia, which is a big releif, free DBT and psychiatrist sessions... glad to be aussie!

Its mainly going to be focused around borderline personality disorder, im wondering if it may be helpful for my ADD as well?

Has anyone had experience with DBT?
How was it for you?

Any info appreciated!!! Thanx in advance.

DBT is used a lot for other stuff too. I did a module to help me cope with PTSD feelings. I think it could be helpful with a whole lot of things. Try it out - if you don't like it's not like it was a waste of money!

DBT CAN be very good. If you read the intro into Linehans manual for it, she DOES stress that there needs to be consistancy etc. She really lays the groundwork for properly executed DBT in its purest form.
But as SD said, its also used in pieces(modules), and they can be very useful as well.
I did a module, and started another(until I got booted...arrgghhh. Its a long and STUPID story). But it seemed pretty good. I also have used some handouts printed from her manual in therapy.
She's a clever woman and I like how she writes. Seems decent.
Good luck.

Yeah dexamphetamine, doc prescribed, it was amazingly easy, hes the one who recognised the ADD and finally took me off those horrible SSRI's.
Works a treat!
