Sigh

Posted by muffled on February 12, 2007, at 12:44:02

I such a moron. My T I think is trying to connect more w/me in some ways I think.
And I am trying to separate away from her, cuz she going away a long time.
So this is all making me mighty uncomfortable.
I am tickled my T is making this effort.
I am terrified my T is making this effort.
I wish to assume my identitiy of perfect well adjustedness.
I wish to be the real me's.
I want to hurt her.
I want to hug her.
My Toughie wants to meet T face to face.
But I trust/don't trust T.
My small one wants to explain stuff.
Nasty won't let her.
Don't understand this stuff.
Presumably this is all terribly educational.
From what I have read here on babble, I not the only one.

Treat yourself well -

take care of you -

you are uncomfortable, but you can get through it -

emotions may feel overwhelming but they will be over at some point - cycle of life and all (what comes up, must come down)

I hope you can feel better about the separation.

You have a way of putting into words what I feel. Therapy is sooooo hard sometimes. But especially when you have to separate from them at times. Can she call you while she's away. Just to check in? Or at least provide you with a backup (even though I know it's not the same)

Thinking of you and hoping you're doing o.k. Be well muffled! Stay safe!

Regards,
kat

Can you explain to your t that you're pulling away because she's going away? I totally understand how hard this is on you.

You're not a moron, and what you're feeling is pretty much par for the course. You have a caring relationship, and will be without that for a time, and of course it's hard. Just do the best you can. No one (your inner people, or your T) is expecting "perfect well-adjustedness" - (that would take all the "fun" out of therapy, wouldn't it? :-)

Just curious, did your T tell you why she was going away for 6 weeks? Is she having a baby?

It is a long time. That is for sure. And I understand the mixed emotions. That is normal. Once my t asked me what I was feeling and I said, "I'm not sure if I love you or hate you at this moment." She laughed because that is so common - but few probably express it so plainly.

We are here. Camp Comfort is always open. And I'm sure your t left you a name of someone covering for her while she is away.

I'd be sad too.

Sorry your T is going away. Maybe write stuff on Babble instead of talking to T.
