No but that reminds me of a friend of mine who threw up in a job interview. And she did get the job anyway.

I've never actually puked, Muffly, but I sure have felt like it.

How are you? You've been kind of quiet.

Yes, I have felt like it. My T even said that bringing up the old memories of abuse it like puking, it is worse coming back up than when it went down.

I hope you are okay. How did your session go after you sent her an email telling her not to touch unless she has permission?

Hi Muffly,
I felt like I would throw up whenever a certain topic came up... But mostly I was able to put it aside until later. I have a couple good bushes picked out within sprinting distance of T's office.

blech.

I've never barfed from angst before. only from migraine, stomach flu etc.

Nope - but I've done it plenty of times after sessions. I now am able to stop though and say, "I feel sick." He usually just talks to me then and we deep breathe together.

I hate that feeling. And I hate it when my therapist follows up with, "I guess we were getting close to something." YOU THINK?!!

Didn't puke. So thats good. There's a garden with bark mulch outside. I went to bathroom for a bit.
I don't remember all that well. And that bothers me.
I all mixed up.
I dunno what.
Now I scared of my T.
Now I mad at T.
Why she talk to I. kid? Whats the point?
She say I trust her enough right? I say right. But then I fussed alot, and she talk to I kid and damn dunno what said and its bothering me. I don't think she say nothing.
And I was gonna leave and T say you please stay, and I stay and she say I( adult me) will take care of I. kid and I.kid will be OK.
What is the point?
BAD appt.
I not phone T, T not phone me.
Maybe I tell her to f*ck off?
My protection is in full force.
God I am confusded.
Sorry.
I will try to appear normal.
I am good at that.

Muffled,
I'm so sorry things are so confused right now. You're going to be okay. Your T has heard it all. You trust her as much as you trust her, and that's the important thing. You keep going to your appts, and keep yourself safe inbetween.

sorry it's so hard- I may meet you in your cave later on in the evening?

I'm so sorry, Muffled. I can imagine how confusing and awful this feels. Try to hang on to the FACT that you and your T have kept your inside kids safe all this time -- you can continue to do it. And I agree with Li that your T has heard it all.

Keep us posted, okay?

Maybe your I kid is making progress. Maybe this is the way for I kid to be heard, now or eventually. Childhood traumas are often ignored or swept under the carpet. Unless they are brought into the light, looked at and dealt with, they can be crippling and we never achieve our full potential. hang in there.
