I feel like my T jinxed me

Posted by happyflower on September 12, 2006, at 16:15:58

A month ago we were talking about car accidents and he and I both were talking about how we never had an accident that was our fault.

Well 2 weeks ago he got in a minor car accident in the parking lot where he and another car bumped into each other as they were backing out.

Well today I got in an accident, 1 1/2 hours ago. I am still shaking and crying. I was on the way to school and was only a half block from my house. I didn't see the line of cars were stopped because the light was green . Well I swerved to not hit the car in front of me, well I was too late and swiped the car. My car had to be towed away and I missed class. I hate missing the class before our test on Thursday, our first one. Man, I am still shaken, and my arms won't stop while I am typing. I am okay, but just upset I guess, my back kinda is hurting though.
Okay this is something I am not happy about having in common with my T.

Well dang. I could have sworn I posted here, but clearly I didn't.

Are you and everyone involved ok?

Take care of yourself tonight. It's a rotten thing to happen.

Thanks Dinah,

I am a little sore, and the adrenlene is wearing off, but I am okay. The guy was on his way for a radiation treatment and he and his wife were very pissed at me, so I just stayed in my car and didn't talk to them other than to ask if they are okay.
I took some advil and I think I am going to go to bed early, I feel so exhausted. Thanks for caring about me, it means a lot.

Hi Happyflower,

Car accidents shake a person up no matter who was at fault. I'm glad you're not physically injured.

I can't say I've never had a car accident that wasn't my fault. If I'm late for therapy my T worries that I was in an accident.

That is such a bummer! I'm glad you are ok. Take care. It takes a while to get over car wrecks. (Unless of course you are my husband who seems to have fender benders regularly. Sigh...)

I can feel every muscle in my body this morning

Wow, and I thought I was okay, I sleep in until 10:30, normally I am up by 6am. LOL But I can feel every muscle move, I am so sore!

I called today to cancel my normal physical therapy since I don't have a car. Well they said they have to do a reevaulation on my neck and back condition. They said sometimes physical injuries don't show up for 3 days. (wonderful) Plus they said they can do some gentle therapy to help me feel better. The seemed really concerned and really nice.

I called to cancel my trumpet lesson and my teacher asked "are you lips okay" LOL You know the important stuff. He was kidding of course.

So I am waiting on the adjuster to call so I can get a rental. I guess they do all the work. I might have to pay a deposit either with a credit card or cash though.

So today I am just going to study for tommorrow's test. My prof. emailed me and said that I should be okay even if I missed class yesterday.

My kids are even making me lunch today! LOL

(((Happyflower)))

That's terrible. I'm sorry that this happened. I'm glad that your lips and teeth are okay ;o). It's also good that you've got a physical therapist who's working with you already. You've got good support to get you through this. I hope your T can help you work on forgiving yourself. Mistakes happen. Driving is very complicated and it sounds like you had a good instinctive reaction- it just happened too quickly.

take care of yourself, okay. Ibuprofen and nice calm music. no piccolo trumpet today, no Alpine Symphony today, okay? Listen to some solo piano stuff by Chopin. This really calms me down, I don't know why.
