Who's coming with me?

Posted by All Done on April 7, 2006, at 2:23:24

I'm going to pick up Daisy to bring her to Camp Comfort. Her room is ready with the brownies, nice stationery and pens for journaling, and cream of wheat.

Anything else we can get for you, Daisy?

Just let me know.

Laurie

That sounds just perfect, special_k. :) I used to go to my uncle's cabin in Colorado. It was next to a stream and it was the *best* water ever! Can it be a stream like that? (I just might have to skip the forest unless we have some heavy duty mosquito repellent, though. Or wait, maybe there are no mosquitoes at Camp Comfort.)

> we have to make swings, ok?

Absolutely! And a sandbox with sand that never sticks to you or gets in your shoes.

And if you like, I have a huge stock of crayons, coloring books, finger paint, and playdoh. I've just recently rediscovered the joy of playdoh. :)

I'm glad you'll be there, special_k. :-)

I'd like to come too. As to what to bring ... hmmmm ... I know falls has the ice cream covered, and the nice swing. You're bringing brownies (love those).

I can go to Starbucks every morning for everyone's coffee or tea.

I'll bring some meditation and yoga tapes too.

I want to leave all my worries at home.

Yeah, I think it's an acquired smell. ;) I feel pretty indifferent about it myself, so if it means you'll play with me, then fragrance/odor free it is!

I think the best part of playdoh is when you open a new container for the first time and turn it upside down to get the playdoh out. It's the perfect shape and it has a different "feel" than previously played with playdoh. I've given this way too much thought, I believe.

How are things going for you?

Can I get steamed milk with some yummy flavor? And I'll even go for 2% instead of skim. :)

Don't you know? Worries can't even survive at Camp Comfort.

There will be no sitting in the corner and no one's a bother at Camp Comfort. Everyone is welcome. :)

What would you like to do or have at Camp Comfort, (((little b2)))?

Will someone bring a guitar or two and maybe some other instruments? Oh, and something that converts my voice into something more musical.

See, I love to sing, but I'm not good with pitch, key, whatever. So, if the acoustics at Camp Comfort are magical, then we have to do sing-alongs. :)

Otherwise, I'll bring a soundproof shower. ;)

I'm waiting out on the curb. Imagine me with a bedraggled stuffed elephant and my blanket. And three or four suitcases, 'cause I won't know what I want to wear while I'm there, so I won't know which shoes I'll need, and I won't know which earrings to bring. And I'll need stuff to read...so a suitcase for books. And we need wine. And chocolate - wait, we have brownies. Can we have Thai food for dinner? I've got a craving.

So, I hope you have room for all of this. I think my secret wish is to just move in to camp comfort instead of visiting. So I'll need another suitcase...

i won't let you sit in the corner...
but you have to come with me so we can figure out what you would like to take...
or we can just go...
and pick some stuff up on the way.
do you like roadtrips?
otherwise we will just have to get the chartered jet to come pick us up...
i can't drive (though mebee i can figure it out)
but you can't just sit there...
so i've got your hand and you are coming with me
ok?

ok. i can probly cope if it don't smell bad.

nah. we get adds for play doh. or we used to... i don't think we are so much into it so we get the US adds for it and they go on about getting it out of the tub for the first time and about how it smells. i don't have play doh in my childhood... so i don't feel anything about it really. except to remember that it smells yuk.

The porridge I made the other day in the slow cooker was a lot like playdoh when I took the leftovers out of the fridge the next day. Only a bit more rubbery. That might smell nicer, though. Like cinnamon. Can't comment on the taste because the texture made it inedible. :(

I'm coming! It sounds like a really good time.

I'll bring bubble stuff, too. So we can blow bubbles.

And I have a guitar, and I play camp songs. Daisy likes PP&M. We can sing PP&M songs.

And Daisy, you can stay at Camp Comfort as long as you want.

We have several chefs. You can have whatever you want for dinner. I think I'll have a lot of Italian and Mexican.

And there's always room for more chocolate. Perhaps some Godiva Truffles?

Camp Comfort is always open with lots of available space.

I'm glad you're letting me bring you, your elephant, and your blanket. :)

I'm glad you'll be there, falls. :)

The bubbles sound fun, too! I've got colored chalk to write on the sidewalks and driveway.

> Porridge? You made porridge? I thought that was only Goldilock's thing? ;)

It's pretty much oatmeal. I just like the word "porridge". It is different from Quaker oats type oatmeal in that it's made with steel cut oats versus pressed oats. It takes about 35 minutes to cook on the stove, but it's SOOO much tastier, imo, than regular oatmeal.

I was hoping I could get that yumminess first thing in the morning without having to stand over the stove stirring and waiting.

So far no such luck. :(

But I'm an excellent cook. My father lets me cook on the driveway on Sundays.

Definitely time for Wapner. :)

gg

PS, which reminds me...I hope y'all can stand me speaking in movie quotes fairly often. Just nod and smile at the silly woman.

I love that type of Oatmeal. And I'm glad you are a good cook. I'm a great cleaner and organizer --- give me a closet and a day, and I'll have that space looking snappy in no time.

Give me a cookbook and unhappily I'll figure it out. So, I'll clean up after your mess. It's an arrangement that works nicely in my home when my 12 year old cooks dinner (and puts her mother to shame).
