i just tapered off xanax and i'm trying to overcome my fears (including my fear or anxious physical sensations like rapid heartbeat, etc)
anyone have success with using just CBT for anxiety?

Yes indeed. Wonderful success. CBT lends itself to sensations of anxiety and controlling them. A good CBT therapist should be able to help you immensely.
A good CBT therapist will probably also be able to help you sort out any core issues that might be the underlying cause of the anxiety and work with those as well.

Nope! Whilst being a very logical person and thoroughly appreciating the potential power of CBT, CAT and REBT, I've never managed to successfully overcome my anxiety.
I'm certainly better off now I know these techniques though, that's for sure so I'd still recommend trying it. Some people love it, some people hate it. The only way to find out is to try it out yourself.
