Looking Back

Posted by Susan47 on February 15, 2005, at 22:54:23

I don't know when I started on Babble. I suppose I could easily enough look it up, and maybe I will, one day.
I know I've changed a bit since those first days, not so long ago.
I must've posted hundreds of times; it feels like it. I never started off on the newbies board, I'm afraid I jumped right in. Upon first sight, I believe. In any case, it's changed me so very much. I talk about therapy and mental health issues with a bit of maturity and insight, now. I think I've become a bit more sensitive to people's issues, and I've learned how to appreciate much.
Thanks guys.

Looking back Susan I'm not sure why I gravitated to you and tried so hard to get you to like me. There must be some music in your voice that reminds me of my sister and my wife and my daughters whom I all adore. Now, don't think I'm getting all mushy on you, I also remember you bustin' my b@lls for being insensitve a couple times. I apologize for not reading all of your posts, so sometimes I might say something stupid that I should know about you. I consider you a friend. I am happy that you are finding a comfort with yourself. You are a beautiful person and an asset to this site.

Wow, just as I'm getting ready to leave.
Thank you, Toph. It's been a hell of a ride. :)

what the %^&%&(* do you MEAN you're "getting ready to leave?" Better be leaving the house to get ice cream, or pick up kids, or, or.....something :( :(

Susan....?

I needed Babble and I needed all you guys, maybe I still do. But I also know I can't spend the chunks of time I have been. And I also know I don't want to let you guys go either. Maybe I'll just slowly kind of fade out, and let you all go too when you're ready. Maybe I'll stick around for years, and we'll all get to know each other. Who knows. I was just really feeling like I needed to leave there.

go with your gut.

Beware of self-sabotague, though, come back from time to time when it feels like staying away is punishing yourself rather than like "a break".

And know that you know how to contact us whenever you want....

I'll support whatever decisions you make, whenever you make them as long as you are putting yourself first and not punishing yourself...
