Excited, not nervous

Posted by Poet on January 6, 2004, at 14:10:15

Thank you all for helping build my confidence. Your good wishes worked. I have a second interview!!! Me?!!!

Karen, you are psychic, your good feeling came true. I got a call three hours after my interview that they want me to come back and meet my (new? future?) boss.

Thank you all, for sending positive thoughts. If it's not too much, please think of me again on Friday, at 2:30 central time.

Will I be able to cross career failure of the list of mental things that ail me? I hope so. I may even let my therapist go back to digging out my childhood pain, then again, maybe I should wait until after the interview.

I wrote it in my date book and will offer up employment prayers!

Good job. Now, what did you think of them? Can you visualize yourself in the next round of interviews? Is it one on one, or do you meet with several people? Remember to take fresh resumes, in case the person you are meeting with didn't get a copy.

Go buy new shoes. This always works for me!
(ok, so my friends call me Amelda...)
Congrats!

Hi Daisy,

I really could use a pair of black boots to go with my black skirt, hmmm. Then again the cat hair sticks to that skirt like glue. I better stick (pun intended) with cat hair free slacks and a nice sweater.

The two women I met with (one of whom currently has the job and got promoted- a good sign) seemed to be open and honest. Interview number two is with my future boss, who is the V.P. of the department I'd be working for, who from what I heard today is wonderful to work for. What a change that would be!

The real good thing is that the job would be with the same organization I currently work for so I'd get to keep my benefits. It's a whole different department, miles from where I currently work, so it'll feel like a fresh start. It really is one, the women I talked to today, hadn't heard of the program I work for. That says something about the importance of what I currently do, doesn't it?

I emailed a thank you to the woman who called me to tell me I had a second interview, and she emailed me back. This is so positive, I can't believe this is happening after years of applying, interviewing and failing, including other departments. I guess I finally found the right one!

I will bring my future boss a resume, and surprisingly for me, anyway, a positive attitude.

Thanks for marking your calendar and thanks for helping me be positive. That's a rarity for me.
