no feelings and stupid actions!!!

Posted by evercare on December 31, 2003, at 11:26:54

From all the pain i have experience in my life, I seem to have put up walls not only from the pain, but from the good stuff too. I have an inability to feel anything. The world could all be killed except me and i would not even care. What can i do???However for the past couple years i have fallen in love with an amazing man and when i think about how much i love him and how much he loves me, i cry, happy tears. Yet for some reason i feel like i deserve pain. I keep inventing new ways and reasons to push him away and i keep hurting him. He sees right through them and stays with me, but i dont want to hurt him anymore! what can i do!!!

Are you seeing a therapist? Is it possible you have PTSD? I know a symptom is numbing of emotions. A good suggestion is to see a therapist and work through your problem of holding your guard up. If you always have a guard up, you can't let anyone in either. I understand, I have the same problem. I know how much it hurts as well.

But, it also sounds like you have a wonderful and forgiving boyfriend. And it sounds like he's in it for the long haul. That's great! Find a good therapist and work through the pain you have experienced in your life. That way you can start enjoying all aspects of your life again!

I'm sorry! I shouldn't have asked if it is possible that you have PTSD. I wasn't thinking. I hope I didn't scare you :( It's just that a symptom is numbing of emotions... I'm not feeling well right now. I'm sorry. But I do think that some therapy will help you "get in touch with your emotion." I'm sorry, I'm stupid!!!
