Peripheral Neuropathy: Miraculous Recovery

Posted by Squiggles on June 13, 2002, at 16:47:09

Hi,

Some post ago I described how my hands and wrists
went totally numb and I had to wear braces for
a few months. This is was concurrent with the
Klonopin withdrawal, but because the cause was not
certain (neuropath said it was not carpal tunnel;
another doctor said maybe hypothyroidism, and my
own gave no opinion), it was really quite a mystery.

It was a mystery until I asked my dr. to raise
my K dose, just in case some of the symptoms,
including this 2-yr long peripheral neuropathy went
away.

To my astonishment, the increase is easing the
peripheral neuropathy. I am very enthusiastic
that this is the solution, and that it will not
return - I also have less of other symptoms.

I hope this is of interest to some. I do recall
that Dr. Heather Ashton in the benzo group spoke
of motor disorders consequent to benzo withdrawal
lasting as long as 15 years, and I would certainly
be happy not to have to wait that long, simply
by raising my K dose from 1.250 to 1.50 mg.

take care

Hi,

Sorry if this is confusing, but questions about medications should go to the original Psycho-Babble (just one "Psycho"):
