I'd like to have a conversation about spirituality

Posted by cass on July 9, 2010, at 2:50:57

I don't believe in the Christian God, so I don't think it would help me to talk to those of you with that faith, but if there are others of you who are agnostic, spiritual, interfaith or anything of the sort, I would like to talk to you.
I'd like to discuss spiritual experiences, ethical principles, social justice issues...
It's early in the morning. I'm probably the only one awake right now. I guess I'll have to wait for responses.

I don't know what to call myself. I believe that there is a driving force to Creation that is larger than Creation itself. I believe that this force is singular, although it encompasses everything.

Thanks! I also believe that, Scott. Do you believe the creative force is also *in* its creation? I think it is. Like I mentioned in my first post, I have perceived my own spiritual nature and love for the creative force and I've sensed it in others. In nature, on can hardly ignore the sense of spirit there. I think all of nature contains that force including animals, non-sentient beings and material.

I like what Alice Walker says. It coincides with my own experience. What I've found in liberal religion is support for the God I already have inside of me and my own individual spiritual path.

"Tell the truth, have you ever found God in a church? I never did. Any God I ever felt in church I brought in with me."
