prayer takes on new meaning

Posted by lynn970 on August 30, 2005, at 21:08:56

When my family sat at the table tonight, we proceeded to say our blessings. Tonight the prayer wasnt just rote like it usually is. We were REALLY thankful for everything. When I think of the people from New Orleans and the surrounding areas, I realize how we need to be thankful for even the smallest blessings.

It is amazing how sometimes the most tragic and devasting issues can humble us back to our knees. I know that I have had a lightning bolt of reality jolted through my system as an awakening b/c of Katrina. It puts a whole lot of things into perspective....
