Just drop on in, Denise. No need to stand on ceremony here -- we're just hangin' around and love the company.

Seriously, welcome and welcome. I'm also older, and anorexic, alhtough my weight is now restored -- ain't nothing worse than being a fat anorexic, by the way. I'm currently struggling with infertility which is probably related to my AN.

(Oh, and please don't take this the wrong way, but I can't stand the "ana" and "mia" pet names -- they sound as if they're cute and cuddly little friends, and they're not. That's why I always use either the initials or the name. {shrug} I know it's probably silly, but I wanted to say it sooner rather than later.)

I'm about to start my second cycle of Clomid -- would you be willing to tell about your experiences? I've been pregnant before, but miscarried early on every time. Being middle aged, and having a history of AN, and just generally watching that clock tick down, well, I am wanting to hear about other people's experiences.

Congrats on your kids. I'm assuming you were already anorexic? Was that part of the fertility problems? I've had the concerned looks from my doctors, including the "yeah, the AN probably contributed to this a lot, but try not to blame yourself..." talks, and will be seeing a specialist in about two weeks. (Should be a good part of the roller coaster ride. First couple of weeks, I feel great, then towards the end of my cycle I could flood a small town with tears. What fun!)

Again, welcome to the ED board here in BabbleLand.

well believe it or not for me it was a host of problems but the main problem was dh he had a low sperm count, and besides low they were mis shapen, all weird things, we did the clomid with my obgyn, but that is the easy drug..... its when you go to the repo man the serious stuff starts. i had anti thyriod antibodies, so i had to take pedisone, that was FUN. and i also had fibroids, i had my period back then, on and off, but when you go on the shots they regulate your periods with all the meds you will be taking to ovulate. then it is one mth on and one mth off, bc u can get hyperovaniion syndrome, omgosh i am trying to remember now remeber this has been a while for me and they might have better drugs but thye were very expensive back then and if u do not have ins to cover it an ampule will cost 100.00 and i was on 4 amps a night. yup 400.00 dollars in my butt. then come the u/s to see how the eggs are growing, and how many, and when they are ripe enough to get the shot of HCG which makes u ovulate. now we went the iui route first, before invitro, i was 33 i think....or 32. so i felt we had a little time and after the 4 try it worked but that was 8 mths because you need time for your ovaries to shrink from all the drugs. am i making sense?why don't you tell me where you are at or where you are going.....and we will go from there.....hop i did not confuse you.
Denise
