candida (blueberry your forte)

Posted by markwell on May 25, 2011, at 10:21:12

I just started a candida kill to see if that might be one of my problems. I bought a bottle of extra strength Kyolic and I'm taking about 5x's the recommended amount and a good probiotic to see if that helps at all or if I get a candida kill off. Is this the right approach? I also made an appointment with a naturo path to work on diet. Can you guide me on this one Blueberry?

I haven't heard of soil probiotics. Do they make a difference in fighting candida?

I read somthing about leaky gut, ADHD, autism and soil probiotics. It seems critical of probiotics over soil probiotics. I never heard of soil probiotics before, then I saw soil probiotics for sale in a swanson vitimin catalog last month. Have you trying giving up wheat/glutin? I had gut problems my whole life and 14 years ago, all of a sudden, I had a violent allergic reaction to wheat. 14 years wheat/glutin free diet and I haven't been constantly sick with sinus infections, colds, flue any more. wheat is everywhere so it's a big commitment but if you try it for 1 month and then resume eating wheat that is a good way to to figure it out. Every now and then I eat wheat and for days it's like i've been poisened.

Since the anti infection potency of garlic is in the odor I don't know if Kyolic will do anything in that regard. I mean, it's a great supplement in a variety of ways. But without the odor it is weak. There is a lot of controversy on the net. From my own experience the odorless garlic supplements were useless but the real ones or raw garlic were potent.

Other common plant medicines would include grapefruit seed extract, oregon grape root (or any plant with berberine content), oil of oregano.

I would just keep going with it and see what happens. If after a few weeks you haven't noticed anything then switch to a garlic extract that is not aged. Whole foods has an enteric coated brand. Even through the coating though you can smell the garlic.

It's easy to measure the right dose.....when you start to stink it's just right. :-)
