Histadelia / Methylation

Posted by nwfb on June 5, 2007, at 13:49:11

Hi all,

I have recently tested positive for high histamine as well as displaying practically all of the symptons ranging from depression and ocd to asthma.

I have been on a large number off supplements (methionine, SAMe, calcium, magnesium, Vit C) for 6 weeks now and was wondering how long recovery should take?

Has anyone experienced sucess treating this meatbolic condition and if so how quickly does it respond to treatment?

Many thanks
nwfb

ello nwfb!

I kinda diagnosed myself as sort of histadelic some time ago.

I take methionine 500mg a day, zinc (at least 30mg a day) B6 100mg a day, calcium (not sure of dosage without looking) and although I've run out, usually take some magnesium with taurine to balance out the calcium.

I also self medicate with a bottle of wine each evening to chill me out and help with sleep.

I have to say that although I'm far from 'cured', my situation is improving gradually.

Don't expect miracles as they don't exist IMO, but the treatment DOES work.

I'd say stick with it for at least a couple of months then look back and see if overall your situation has improved.

The biggest threat to this regimen (as with most succesful ones really) is getting lazy with regard to taking the doses each day as you improve. DO NOT slack off as you improve!

If you've got your diagnosis right, then this regimen without doubt works, but you might have to tinker with the dosages to get optimal results. I often think I should up mine lots now i'm on the right track, but somehow seem to loose the inclination to do so as I improve.
