Blood test for depression (vit., min., horm. def.?

Posted by LizinManhattan on May 1, 2007, at 17:28:26

Hi,
I am having my regular old physical on Friday, including having blood drawn. I am wondering what I should be asking my doctor for test for in terms of deficiencies in either vitamins, minerals or hormones? I suffer from depression that is mostly under control as well as from very mild anxiety.
Off the top of my head I figure I should ask for these:
Vitamin D
B12 (I actually had a deficiency at one time)
thyroid
iron (used to have a deficiency)
magnesium
Should I also be asking for all the other B vitamins and vitamin C as well?
Thanks for any suggestions!
Liz

Definnetly ask about all the B-vitamins, and thyroid. B-12 deffinitly can do that also ask about folic acid, the 2 work together, and are related to stress, depression and I think axiety. Biotin can help also.
