When/how are you supposed to stop light tx?

Posted by gardenergirl on April 17, 2005, at 2:08:26

Now that spring is here, along with daylight savings time, how do you stop light therapy? Do you taper or stop cold turkey?

I already did stop, and it was fairly cold turkey. I am depressed again, and I wonder if that might have influenced it. One way to find out is to get back to using it again, but I do wonder what is recommended. My pdoc never said what to do in the Spring.

Hi gg,

Sorry to hear you're feeling depressed again. Are you still on the same level of medication or is the light box the only change you've made?

I also started and then have been decreasing Topamax. The timing of that suggests is may be a factor, but it's also around the same time I got lazy with my light therapy.

Too many variables.

At least you have something(s) to blame it on... Hope you feel better.
