Something for water retention

Posted by Maxime on March 19, 2005, at 15:09:12

Hi

Is there something I can take for water retention caused by other meds. I am not on much now but I do take Thorazine to help me sleep at time. After one dosage I retain a lot of water. After 3-4 days I lactate.

Also before I get my period I get very puffy as well (I can't even get my rings on).

So what might I take?

Cytomel 25 mcg helped me a lot in that regard.

I am hypothyroid and I take synthroid. There is NO way that my doctor will prescribe Cytomel for water retention (although I do appreciate your response).

I used to take B6 for water retention. My OBGYN suggested it years ago. Now I take it in the summer when I retain water. It really works. Fondly, Phillipa

I don't know if you use the birth control pill, but Yasmin works wonders for water retention. It actually flushes excess sodium out of your system, so you don't retain fluids. It's the only thing that's been effective for me.

Yes I do but Yasmin is not available in Canada.

Sigh.
