Posting sugggestion

Posted by fires on August 6, 2005, at 17:48:45

This suggestion has been made by myself and others on many different forums (Yahoo, About.com, etc...).

Although most posts here are very short, some run quite long.

I'd like to suggest that no paragraph exceed 3 to 4 sentences. Trying to read a block of text that is more than 3-4 sentences can be quite difficult for many.

Maybe those who post long paragraphs could be kindly asked to break them up into smaller paragraphs in the future?

(Increasing browser text size is of limited value).

Thanks

Sensible suggestion. And welcome back, fires :-) (nm) » fires

sorry. just being friendly, but perhaps that was intrusive, as I guess we've not posted directly to each other. But I've always read your posts, and I remember some really interesting discussions a while back.

I don't recall you posting for a while, but of course, I could be mistaken there.

I thought I recalled last time you told a poster (alex, maybe?)that you might not post much as you weren't feeling well, and so I guess, when I saw your name, I *hoped* it meant you're feeling better...

Again, I apologize if that wasn't appropriate.

Awwww, I feel sad reading this. I know you are a friendly soul, and I don't think you should ever apologize for that. You meant what you meant.

fires has been posting on the meds board, but I haven't seen you there much, so you might have missed it.

That's very sweet of you.

> Again, I apologize if that wasn't appropriate.

I think it was a genuine expression, and thus appropriate.

Take care,
gg

I'll do my best. I tend to get wordy. You should see my reports!

Good suggestion, though.

Don't feel sad (hah, I'm telling a therapist in training *not* to feel a feeling! Bold, aren't I?) I maybe made too much of the questions back to me. I meant to apologize if fires maybe was startled or confused by someone he/she doesn't know suddenly posting. I figure that could bother some people.

Ahhh, yup, that explains it. Funny how's that's known as the *main* board here, and I might go there once every six weeks or so, for 5 minutes! PBP seems like the main board - for me. Guess it's because I've been off ADs for quite a while and so don't feel I have much to offer or ask.

Thanks, gg. Gosh, between you and crushed, if we were talking IRL today (oops, yesterday now...) I would have been turning red and staring at my shoes a lot...

Maybe. But I can now see fires must have thought it odd, being welcomed back after *not* being gone....silly me. Thanks for making me stop and consider just what I'm apologizing for, though. You are always good at sparking some self-examination...and heaven knows any of us currently in T. need a reason to do LOTS more of that! Arggghh!! :-)

oops, let me stop and keep this Admin...

I agree about large blocks of text, but I'd also rather not make a new rule. But it would be fine for others to kindly ask them...

Great suggestion.

I know when I am confronted with a huge block of text, I tend not to read it simply because it is so hard.

Yes, there's something about a large block of text that

many find hard to read. Maybe if it were double

spaced it would be easier to read.
