Have you ever tried to lower the neuroleptics and see about other drugs to pick up the slack? If I just relied on AP/AAP drugs for my problems, I'd probably be loaded up on Haldol or something and drooling all day. Instead, the doctor uses anti-epileptics (trileptal and lamictal, in my case) and wellbutrin. I'm doing reasonably well, and I don't have drug induced negative symptoms or twitches, tics, tremor, etc.

Everybody is somewhat different, but I don't think its wise to medicate all the problems with ever increasing doses of AP/AAP.

I don't think it is that easy.
I have pretty serious clinical OCD-symptoms and rituals, and the only thing that have helped me is olanzapine, risperdal and memantine.

I have a hard time believing that these drugs do cause OCD by it's own. But who knows?
Try to reduce your antipsychotics and see if things clears up. My mind did when i came of 600mg quetiapine and 20mg olanzapine, and now i am helped by just 2.5-5mg olanzapine instead of the monster doses i used to take! :-)

If it get worse after some month you could always go back! (the first period after you have reduced them you are going to feel a bit of, but if it continues you should maybe go back or try a different one) :-)

My tip if you want to try something completely new and obviously can tolerate EPS side effects, is to cross titrate Amisulpride into your medicines, and stop completely with both olanzapine and quetiapine.

Amisulpride is known to be, sometimes, even better than clozapine.

Good luck!

I believe you! especially since you have such high dose..

I strongly advice you to try clozapine, it has the strongest antipsychotic effect and that should make you be able to quit both seroquel and zyprexa. wouldn't that be great?
Less antipsychotics = less ocd?

in theory it would take less of clozapine to make me equally OCDish like the Zyprexa that i take now.

It is not yet known if Seroquel has the same OCD effect. Nobody seems to know that its a fairly common side effect of AAPs.

There are many CBT and other therapists who use mindfulness-based techniques to help people learn to calm themselves.

It might be trazodone

it might also be the trazodone that is making me have OCD Symptoms! I take 75mg in the morning. That were the two changes i made. More Neuroleptics including Zyprexa and i started Trazodone. Since i did i have de novo OCD Symptoms

What do you think?

I am feeling a little bit better now on 20mg Zyprexa as opposed to 25mg.
