i would add maybe a emergency anti manic med......zyprexa (vary) good emergency med but if used too long it can cause weight gain and cognitive slowing......

i've taken it so long now that my whole body can function fine, and do high mental work.......

effexor is a good anti depressant, but also i what i've heard is that alot of people that have manic illness can take wellbutrin, because i've read it does not cause mania (in most cases) because it blocks the reuptake of NE and dopamine but read somewhere that it prevents some firing of it too......

wellbutrin is mild stimulant, but also can be you irritible and anxiety, but stay with effexor if it works

that or add Geodon, it's not sedating like zyprexa......

maybe use 20mg of zyprexa if you have any manic syptoms

Can you give us more detail about the work you do without giving away your personal identity? Do you actually feel good on Zyprexa? Has it helped or hindered your social life?

Thank you Pattie for sharing with us. It's great that you have found a non-addictive med that helps calm you. Did you have any problems when you first started taking it?

Yes, I found this med to be a good alternative to mood stabilization without having to use heavy doses of other ones. It was used at 20mg at a psych hospital and i could tell how much it cleared my thoughts, and anxiety. It's great for some people, others they have to stop and find another, but this med is known to cause weight gain, but if excersise is included it is a good med. It's heavy for some people and they have to get adjusted to it

So Thankful you responded!

Pattie

Geodon reason i was saying it was not sedating is because my doctor told me to discontinue zyprexa and start geodon, but i refused because zyprexa has always worked well wiht me with or without sedation,

geodon mainly just brought me back to earth, like if i take geodon im more calmer but the sedation is not like zyprexa, zyprexa makes my eyes want to close sometimes, but it takes care of the aniety well, im not up and down and irrtitible
