much better OFF vitamin D

I think that vitamin D was inducing some sort of mixed states. I am feeling much calmer after coming OFF vitamin D.

I'm starting to think the same. Seems the higher my D level gets the more unstable I get. Coincidence? We'll see...

Interesting....I feel much better with high levels...but mine are chronically (very) low.

I don't know what my levels are. When I start supplementing with vitamin D, I find it harder and harder to sit still and relax / meditate.

It also seems to make it harder for me to concentrate. My ability to read becomes more fragmented / skim reading.

I also get this feeling of being possessed. Not by evil spirits, but more that my actions are not my own. I find myself acting in more impulsive ways - like I have more difficulty reflecting on decisions.

But then again, my depression actually improves in the winter. I think I might have seasonal (spring, summer) hypomania.

What does your blood level say? Mine was too low. Maybe yours was too high?

About 5 years ago mine was 55. I make sure to get some sun on bare skin since it is stored in fat each day that it is warm enough to bike ride in shorts So I keep a slight tan all year. Legs and arms. And take Calcium/Magnesium with D included Vitamin Shop Brand. P

Dr. Perlmutter, author of "Grain Brain" says we should get the level higher than what is recommended to around 80.
It's hard to know what to believe. My level was at the lowest acceptable number 5 years ago. I started prescription supplements with Dr. monitoring since then but haven't felt any benefit at all. I've often wondered if it was worsening my condition.
