nicotine as a medication

Posted by rjlockhart37 on July 7, 2015, at 21:57:44

i know it's not approved for anything, but i have noticed nicotine helps with unplesant emotions and in a small way it does seem to soothe or stablize for the moment......like i stopped smoking ciggerettes, but i still vape, or use a e-cigg and i have noticed it has postive effects on mood.....not like...getting into a good mood, but it just regulates some mood swings, or depression slump.....ill take 2 puffs of a e-cigg and i can notice a difference......it's not like caffeine or amphetamine, it's just......i don't know, nicotine has a postive effect sometimes on negative imbalance in the brain.....like when something vary bad happens, or im thinking about something that bothers me, or if im bored and depressed, nicotine is tiny little help.....

thought id note that....

Linkadge has long postulated a role for nicotine or nicotinic receptors in the treatment of depression. It turns out that a metabolite of ketamine, hydroxynorketamine (HNK), targets the alpha-7 nicotinic receptor subtype without affecting NMDA receptors. It has already demonstrated antidepressant properties preclinically. I don't know if there are plans for clinical trials, though. I imagine the drug could be patented. I am now wondering if the clinical benefit produced by ketamine for depression has little to do with NMDA receptors.

yea.....it effects that and also acetylcholine, which improves thinking or the way thought goes through, i've read and watched things on tv people saying that they can think better when they smoke.....(of course not healthier, but with the e-cigg it's in a better place)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nicotinic_acetylcholine_receptor

it also depends on the intake, like friday night everyone goes to the bars and pulls out ciggies and beer, thats more of recreational way of smoking, but smoking just by itself seems to improve mood for short time, mainly because the reward center in the brain looks forward to the next nicotine intake, but when your smoking a vape you get continuaous nicotine intake, with ciggerettes usally people just smoke 1 ciggertte and wait an hour until the next, or of chain smokers.....

but really i think e-cigg is a better, more continuous way to help some stimulation in the brain. Smoking is old, doctors smoked, in their own sessions.....back like 80 years ago........it's been documeneted, but you know society grows and gets smarter.....

Could you take vitamin B3 instead?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Niacin

ENADA NADH rather than niacin or niacinamide or nicotinic acid?

its energizing, would it work for you...
