For me ativan was much better. Been a long time but it sure got rid of anxiety and left me relaxed. Oh and this is the only benzo supposed to take with luvox. Phillipa

I agree. I'm also finding it easier to taper off compared to klonopin. Do you space the doses out during the day, or do you take it all at once?

Have you ever thought about switching back to Ativan?

I've had a bottle for a few years in the drawer. Not really. Kind of tired of meds. So stick with what I'm on. I sleep is all I care about. Phillipa

taking ativan for years, but be carefull when taking minocycline and 2,5 mg could cause weird things, 1M and 0,5 going to assume it's safer

ativan is less mentally potent than klono, klono is strong in mental sedation, and it made me depressed as hell.....lorazepam is more known in calming nerves, not mental sedation

they use ativan in psych hospitals alot for emergency anxiety treatment, it does work a bit faster, and lasts longer, 6 hours

klono lasts around 4-5

Agreed. Ativan/Lorazepam caused me much less anergia and depression than Klonopin/Clonazepam.

Me too.

My impression of the old literature dealing with the properties of clonazepam is that it can affect serotoninergic function. There might be more to it, but quite a few people including me report feeling depressed on clonazepam.

I find lorazepam to be a very clean" drug. There are no psychotropic effects other than anxiolytic and hypnotic. However, with a half-life of about 12 hours, one needs to dose multiple times throughout the day to treat chronic anxiety. I did not like alprazolam. It was a little too relaxing for me in a way that I didn't like. Some people report alprazolam as having antidepressant effects, but its effects seem to be mild at best.

S- Yes, although I find all benzos to be somewhat depressionogenic, the worst offender by far for me was Xanax/Alprazolam. I also found it has the worst rebound when taken PRN.
