shaky, weak and hungry...

Posted by Brot on May 19, 2014, at 12:31:42

thats me when i try to lose weight and dont eat much.... i guess its hypoglycemia.

so, i take seroquel.. 400mg, along with other meds. i am overweight... 115kg / 253 lbs .. 180cm / 71 inches height
i look like a pregnant man

how on earth should i lose weight if i just get hypoglycemic instead of burning my fat?

what about metformin? those who take it. do you at times feel sorta hypoglycemic or do you feel strong and fit on it?

i worry metformin might make it worse..

400mg Seroquel
300 mg Lithium
200 Amisulpride
225mg Efexor

It's probably the Seroquel. People who take tranquilizers like Seroquel usually feel this way and there have been numerous studies that indicate that people on them die within a decade. I'd switch from Seroquel to Rememron if I were you.

a lot of people approach losing weight from a restricting food intake perspective. it doesn't need to be that way, though. one way to think of it as being more about REPLACING certain foods with certain OTHER foods.

in particular... keeping up your intake of protein (meat, fish). and INCREASING the amount of non-root veges (in particular) and probably also things like rice and oats (if your belly can learn to tolerate them).

dan john has this wonderful thing on how you can eat whatever you like AFTER you have eaten... then a bunch of food that must be eaten in one day... AFTER you have eaten up everything you are supposed to be eating... the point is... there isn't much room left for anything else.

or...

eat 6 apples. then do you still feel like that big mac? probably not... do you still feel hungry? probably not, again...

around 2 or 3 hours later you are hungry again. of course you are. that's the way digestion works. its okay to eat regularly (nearly constantly almost) so long as you are eating foods that are mostly water (fresh produce).

most people don't eat nearly anywhere near enough protein...

in other words: don't be afraid to eat. if you turn orange it might be time to cut back on the carrots... don't be afraid of water, either... green tea...

Metformin isn't going to help.

You're probably hanging onto the fat because you're not eating enough. Starving yourself isn't going to induce weight loss.

How active are you?
