MAOI Parnate...penis enlargement medication???

Posted by LostBoyinNC45 on February 25, 2014, at 16:51:17

Ive taken the MAOI Parnate several times during my time with depression. I admit that while the drug messed up my blood pressure and is "tricky" with the MAOI diet and all, it is the most effective pharmacological anti-depressant Ive been prescribed.

One thing I noticed about the MAOI parnate is I experience frequent erections on it and my penis gets extremely large. And it makes me think of sex, A LOT. About as much as maybe as when I was about, 18 or so. LOL

I'd say it makes my penis about two inches longer and thicker, more like it was when I was really young. And really really hard again. I have low testosterone btw, really really low T. My sex drive and erections are better on the MAOI Parnate than on testosterone cypionate injections!!!!

Is it the dopamine or MAO-B neurotransmitters that Parnate creates a buildup of that causes this?

On top of this, the MAOI Parnate makes my mood a lot better. Not that Im like crying or "depressed" on SSRIs or anything. But on Parnate Im thinking about banging chics and stuff and its just to me, not just a really effective antidepressant, but its a penis enlargement drug!

Glad you have positive (I assume from your writing) effects to your libido, etc., from Parnate - sounds like that is an unexpected but welcome SE from what is also an effective AD. But this...

>>banging chics...<<

isn't really all that charming.

Women are reading here, too. Maybe I'm the only one, but I'd rather not be described as a baby fowl that you look forward to "banging." When we're feeling well and having normal sexual function, I think (hope) we all have a variety of sexual feelings and thoughts about whomever, whenever. That is great, but maybe refrain from sharing them here with that language?

Your post(s) is/are so well written and you express your views clearly, whether or not I agree with them. I don't thing a thing would have been lost here if you'd left that phrase out, do you?

I would never jump to that conclusion about you, of course.

well, Im currently not on Parnate. I find the MAOI diet "tricky" and I cant eat out reliably and safely on Parnate. I eat out a lot.

I have thought about trying EMSAM at the lowest patch dose, as my understanding is you dont have to be on the MAOI diet at the lowest patch dose that is FDA approved for depression. I would think EMSAM would be similar to Parnate, there are similarities between the two drugs.

I miss those constant and frequent erections and sexual thoughts and drive. Except on Parnate several times, I have not experienced that since before I had my breakdown at age 28, in the late nineties.

Im diagnosed with the secondary form of low T, where its CNS based. I figure the MAOIs fix my depression so much and have that dopaminergic effect that other ADs simply dont have, that it corrects the CNS thing and tells my brain to "pump out testosterone." I never had my testosterone levels tested on Parnate, but if I ever go back on it, Im going to have my T tested on it.

All I know is it made me think constantly about sex, sex, sex and that was kinda fun for a change. And the penis enlargement thing was fun as well, it also made my ejaculations much stronger and heavier, like when I was about 18. LOL

What your saying Eric isn't really the problem
Its HOW your saying it!

I'm glad your getting good affects from Parnate
But the language your using seems more appropriate for a Prohormone Forum

Couldn't you just say your getting improvement in sex drive?
"Increase in volume"?! er to much information really

Please don't post anything that could lead others to feel accused or put down. Including in the subject line.

"banging chics" is not just crude, it is language that supports violence against women

this thread is filled with aggressive language that threatens sense of safety here

I can see how people could feel threatened and unsafe on this thread. At the same time, it's language, not sticks and stones.

In theory, it's straightforward to avoid someone aggressive here: just don't open their posts. At the same time, I know it can be hard to resist doing something hurtful.

I've been rethinking "blinders", a feature that would keep posters from even seeing the posts of other posters, to help them protect themselves.

I understand the concept of civility. However, I must say that I cannot comprehend how a person could actually feel threatened or unsafe from an Internet thread. When someone posts stuff that is of a heated or mildly heated debate nature or just feels strongly about certain things, other people should not feel "threatened" or "unsafe."

Frankly, that sounds crazy...to feel threatened or unsafe from Internet posts.

Short of a direct communication of a threat from the Internet, such as extortion or something of that nature.

thats just how I see it. Man, Im glad I have thicker skin than some of the people on here.

Wow

Eric AKA "LostBoyinNC"

Me thinks some people just are too sensitive and need to grow up.

You were indeed trying to warn and protect others.

Being civil can be a pain in the rear sometimes. It takes a little while to get the hang of it. I still don't get all of it, but the concept is a good one. Don't worry about the PBC. It does not represent a permanent blemish on your record. In theory, being civil should help protect everyone, but it doesn't always work out that way. Have you tried using the "Notify Administrators" function at the bottom of a post?

Perhaps it is just the execution of the concept that you have difficulties with.

> However, I must say that I cannot comprehend how a person could actually feel threatened or unsafe from an Internet thread.

I find your inability to comprehend such things interesting. It would help explain a great deal as to why you choose to behave in ways that evoke in others feelings of hurt, fear, or anger. Of course, there are likely to be other psychosocial factors involved. Hopefully, you and your psychologist have identified these factors and have motivated you to make the changes you wish to see in your psyche.

You are smart and strong.

You are special.

Calling someone an ahole, accusing them of wreaking havoc and mayhem and attacking others and being crazy and too sensitive, and saying they shouldn't feel the way they do and need to grow up all could lead them to feel accused or put down.

Eric, maybe a strategy that would work for you would be to assume others have a thinner skin.

Scott's right, it can take a little while to get the hang of being civil here. Even he can still forget to change the subject line!
