I just don't know anymore. I'm so confused about meds.
Anti seizure meds rock! Trileptal has been awesome for me. I can even throw in a little Lamictal (tiny dose) and it helps greatly with depression.
But for the past few years Trileptal has caused swelling. I was reading on an epilepsy site about anti seizure meds and swelling. Apparently, it's fairly common. I even called my favorite pharmacist and he said that it does happen! So I'm not as crazy as I thought!
He suggested spacing out the dose or dropping down to a lower dose. I have dropped down on Trileptal and it does help, but I miss the higher dose. I know I need to take it because things like steroids, cold medicines, even a cup of coffee can make me irritable, so this tells me that for sure I have a mood disorder!
I guess the only thing I can do is take a lower dose of Trileptal and supplement with Klonopin if needed.
I'm still not afraid of Geodon. It could help with the hypomania and depression, but it sometimes gives me heart palps. Maybe I shouldn't worry so much.
It's so frustrating to have side effects.
