changing and upping meds, is this alright?

Posted by Jeroen on October 7, 2013, at 12:27:51

i want to propose to my pdoc this friday.

upping abilify to 30 mg, coming from 20 mg
then adding paxil 20 mg (danger for mania & psychosis but maybe it will be blocked by high dose abilify

ISNT THERE AN ANTI DEPRESSANT WHO DONT CAUSE MANIA WITH PEOPLE WITH PSYCHOSIS AND WORKS AGAINST PANIC ATTACKS?

also replacing ativan with Xanax

this will not sure me, but will make me temporary better in these hard times....

...maybe Surmontil (trimipramine) ? Its sedating and not very "activating." I don't know if they have it in your country. Its a TCA, but I don't think it has as many bad side effects as the older TCA drugs. May be wrong...

not activating, whats the point ... : (

Trimipramine is not too awful. I prefer not to take much because of the dry mouth but otherwise I am fine with it. I take 15mg or so at night.

have you tried fluvoxamine? I thing it is better for comorbid schizophrenia. Paxil is more anticholinergic.

How did that work? Here in Norway Paxil is called "Seroxat". It was the first psychotropic drug I tried. I started with it March 1994. Some weeks later I become manic for the first time in my life. July 1994 I was committed to a mental hospital (for the first time) with a manic psychosis, due to the Seroxat (paroxetine). I have never been manic without abrupt changes and/or high dosages of antidepressants.
