how long do you usually wait between med trials?

I've been *so* incredibly patient, I stopped Riluzole over a month ago because I was having some (speculative) withdrawal symptoms from some Parnate and clonazepam I had used.

Then a friend surprised me by visiting for a week and I didn't want to begin a new med.

Then my liver enzymes were slightly raised, so I did a 2-week course of Milk Thistle, which was accompanied by its own side-effects (anxiety, fatigue, insomnia).

It's been 2 days since I stopped the Milk Thistle, so I feel like I should get some sense of a baseline before starting the Riluzole again. I thought a week (5 more days) might be sufficient. It's been such painful tedium hanging on like this.

I have a hard time being patient. But its hard to figure out withdrawal feelings vs the new med. I think a lot of docs think that you can withdraw in a few days. Uhh..not my body. More like a few weeks.
