I'm currently trying 10mgs of saphris for bp and I'm not having much luck. Lethargic in the morning and very disruptive sleep. My pdoc wants to try an amphetamine for my racing thoughts and my lethargy. Any thoughts about using an amphetamine with a bipolar diagnosis? How about an amphetamine for racing thoughts? Pretty desperate!!

Is Saphris the only stabilizer onboard? Can you tell us all the meds you are currently taking?

I'm taking 10mgs saphris and 150mgs of lamictal...that's it for now. I could try the, I think it's dexanphetamine and see what happens...but I am afraid of going manic. I'm looking into getting a second opinion. It's so hard to find a good pdoc where I live.

if anti depressant meds made you manic in the past, i don't think its a good idea to start another one to avoid trouble
about the bad pdoc i hear ya (same boat)
