please don't be annoyed reading this again, i know i frequently psot about this...but i've had it...the meds don't take effect, multiresistance thing that's going on. You know, i do think they are being absorbed, but there is something in the bloodstream, Blood brain barreir, ionization, or simply the body is try to protect itself from previous methamphetamine use. I am prone to drink more, smoke more, to get away from the bad mood and feeling miserable, both from the meds not working and the regular slow body transmission that makes me so depressed.
So....the options, blood test....this is difficult case because there is no test that can test why meds are not taking effect...its too microcomplicated, no test can figure out what the meds are doing in the bloodstream, or going to the brain. And if there was, the testing would be so expensive because of speciality doctors on this. All i do is pray to God, resist being intrested in dark art, and greyish gloomy dark things....which i will do when im bored at night. So....this is so hard, the doctor says its my head...nothing is wrong, im worrying too much. Ugh!!! i want to find out what is causing this....maybe figure out why in other people here on babble....i did some research, theres a process where the chemicals are process into the cell membranes, and if there not it doesnt work right....but its in piles of medical information too much to read....
anyone have any kind of idea? tests? what causes this?
i've been thinking all about of sipping out of vodka bottle....and maybe ill feel better....alcohol does make me feel like sh i t at times, depressed incredibly....
ill figure something out...

My situation I. Short.
I was prescribef Adderall(amphetamine) in 2005.
It worked amazingly for a month.
One day it just stopped working.
I tooka break from it and a year later it still didn't work.
I then took cyproheptadine for a few weeks, slowly raising the dose every few days.
All the sudden I felt MUCH better. I then took an Adderall just to see if it would work and.... it did!If you ever try this and you get meds to work for you again, id suggest staying off them. Or at least stay off dopamine increasing meds.

I tend to agree with your doctor that you ruminate on this too much. You need to get therapy. DBT/CBT therapy is best for problems with rumination. It's actually as effective treating depression as drugs are.

yea....i am in therapy, but ... its a diffrent kind than CBT...it smore talking about it, psychodynamic type....the psycologist i see is well known in christain churches....so...i'm slowly telling him about this....this stuff i've posted here on babble about my secrets and pain...sometimes when i talk im disorganized in speech, and it doesnt make sense, or it does...but its so fast it doesnt make sense,...when i first saw him i told him really fast about all this and he didnt get it....and though i was wierd...so i backed off...and am trying to structure the way i speak...not eloborting nonsense. I post here on babble, and can write fine, but in real life...i have to psych myself to talk structuredly.
yea.....i know its working, but what im trying to say is it has no effect at all, like having no medication, it will have an effect on random days, but its not just plain problem....my doctor simply tells me "its in your head" ... and that just leaves me even more lost cause no listens to me....or takes me seriously.
oh well....but thanks for the post...:)

yea....i've taken 500mg of nuvigil...one time it gave me so much energy i could run laps again around the track....then another time nothing...like i mean "nothing" like i didnt even take it....

You should see a CBT/DBT therapist instead of a psychodynamic therapist. It would help you much more.

another option is to do the DNA saliva test with your pdoc. it's very simple, costs a few hundred dollars, and it reveals how your liver enzymes breakdown meds. I did it and found out that I was a super fast metabolizer, which would explain why I go into med withdrawal pretty quickly. I believe the results can also help point your doc in the right direction as far as what works best w/ your chemistry.
hopefully that helped a bit...
