What are your experiences combining ADs with herbs? Especially Rhodiola Rosea, have you noticed any interactions?

I have combined celexa with tongkat ali and maca, and sometimes ashwagandha, for combating sexual side effects, with some success.

According to Drugs.com any contraindicions have not been identified.

Pretty sure the FDA doesn't trial them or vitamins? That's the problem. And when I see docs of any specialty one question is what if any herbs do you take. And also vitamins. Phillipa

No interactions, but rhodiola gave me a weird time-trippy feeling like smoking pot after a couple days on it. Not fun.
Ive had good luck with NAC, inositol / choline and large doses of vitamins C D and B.

Certain herbs are studied in clinical trials. But they're not nearly as well studied as medications, for obvious reasons.

I have been taking rhodiola rosea for 4 days now and felt a thing from it. Meh. I kinda didn't expect to.. but I also don't feel the effects of Adderall (I did in the past) or Ritalin, antipsychotics, Gabpentin and Provigil. Basiclly my dopamine system isn't working correctly.

But Maca Root is the only supplement I've had success with so far.

I've considered st johns, and yeh I know its like the most used antidepressant over there. One thing is.. I trust European drug regulatory systems better than the FDA. They seem to work in a much more ethical way.
