Hi, I can' find an answer to this anywhere. I'm seeing my doc next week and will ask him this, but wanted to start Parnate tomorrow. I take Abilify. I know they're safe together, but does anyone know if there is any risk to taking any other psychiatric med with a MAOI at the same time? Sorry if this is a really complex question. I think it's safe but wanted to hear other people's opinions. Thank you.

If you're taking an MAOI (such as Parnate) then you shouldnt take drugs that have a significant effect on seretonin reuptake, as seretonin syndrome is the result
So, no SSRI's, SNRI's, clomipramine, imipramine, tramadol. Amphetamines, diet pills and nasal decongestants are said to be contra indicated, but its variable. Safets course is ask a pharmacist before taking any other drug excpet for aspirin, tylenol, advil

For what it's worth, the drug interactions checker lists the combination as moderate, not serious. And this website is very conservative.
