A Quick Hello from Down Under

Posted by jono_in_adelaide on July 24, 2012, at 19:49:12

Hi All,

its been almost six months since I posted..... new job is going well, and my mood is good.

Not sure why, but around new year the anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts backed off somewhat, despite nothing realy changing.

I'm still on Zoloft, Edronax, Risperdal 1mg at night and Xanax 1mg twice a day, but I am functioning, coping with the stresses of a demanding job, happy and highly productive.

Not sure what happend, but I'm glad it did.

How are you guys n girls going?

Hi.

It is nice when people stop by occasionally to say hello when they are feeling better. It is very encouraging.

I hope things continue to improve for you.

Being back to having a career instead of a job is a nice feeling - though that isnt responsible for my improvement, rather, it was the improvement that allowed me to make the step up.

I plan on keeping on my meds for quite a while (despite my doctor askig me about discontinuing Xanax every time i see him) because they have given me my life back

The Edronax controls the depression, the Xanax manages the anxiety, and the low dose risperidone helps both but in a different way.

The Zoloft does nothing for me, but it seems that an SSRI is part of the protocil for anxiety/panic, so i just take it to make my doctor happy.

Maybe in siz months I'll trynand stop the Xanax, and just keep a pill in my wallet for emergencies, or maybe I'll decide that taking a benzo is a price I'm happy to pay to maintain this level of functioning.

I'll try and drop in once a week and see how everybody is doing.

That would be great. This place could use more positive energy.

Jono so glad to hear that things are going well. Congratulations on your career and not just a job as you put it. I wouldn't change a thing. Thanks for posting. Phillipa
