Good morning
I increased my klonipin dosage from 2x0.5 to 4x0.5 for 6weeks , could I have picked up a dependantcy to this increase? I am trying to go down to 3times a day which has left me with bad anxiety. Does this sound right? Any feedback would be helpful

Benzo dependency creeps up on you, but Klonopin has a very long half-life (unlike, say, Xanax), so rebound anxiety shouldn't really be an issue in between doses. Maybe consider switching to an equivalent dose of Valium? Valium is much easier to taper with--the dosing can be very precise (unlike Klonopin).

I wonder if you could just ride it out for a week,and see if the anxiety decreases as you adjust? Ive always been told to take klonopin once or twice a day,long half life.Ive been trying to get from .5mg once a day to .25mg,and havent been successful,so I know how you feel.After a few days of it,I feel as if Im being jack hammered into the ground.Someone here said,prepare for it to suck,and it does.

Sounds rather familiar, the "rebound anxiety", even between doses can be quite uncomfortable, from my experience. I put quotes around the term because I believe it's more accurate to call it what it is - withdrawal symptoms. Best info I've found is here:

yes,its good now,but I dont want to be a lifer.so I try every once in a while to lower the dose,just to remind myself

> CeeCould you try taking 3 and 1/2 tablet so it is a more gradual decrease? I take Klonopin, 0.25 to 0.5 per day. I think it is a strong medicine. I wouldn't try decreasing more than 0.25 at a time.
