Is it safe to take 30 mg of Zxprexa or is 20 mg the max?

I used to take Zyprexa 10mg X 3 daily in mental hospital, it was relieving in the disturbing thoughts that left...but it slowed my mind down and numbed anxiety. Later after I got discharged I started jerking when I was eating dinner and I had to put myself in a room where I couldnt break anything. That was miserable time acutally because that was when I was refused Vyvanse which i was currently taking and withdraw in psychological was horrid. Zyprexa is kinda tranqulizing in thoughts....i still currently take 20mg at night....actually just took it 15 min ago, but im having a serious problem with my medications not taking effect.
Zyprexa can be good tranqulizing relief with people with disturbed thoughts, its more newer than the older ones...it lasts 24hours. But still it does have some side effects.

I took it at 30mg for a while. I've taken doses as high as 50 a few times.

Did it help you at 30 mg? How did it help? Im at 20 mg now im thinking of going to 30 with my pdocs permission, did it maKE U tired?

zyprexa does produce sedation....i've took it a couple years now and its caused weight gain, and tolerance...i don't feel the tired effect of it anymore. It's great for bad anxiety at 30mg...seriously but just it slows the mental thought process down and doesnt really make a you get excited, for me it was my medication when I was coming off xanax...i was taking nuerontin and zyprexa and it was a effective combo for benzo withdrawl...but of course it was a its highest doses.
If you want quick sedation you shuold check out compazine...leaves the system quickly...like couple hours... zyrexa lasts over 20 hours.

At the time I was coming off of abilify, and I was very unstable. I had to take as much as 50mg a few times just to feel better. So yes it helped at 30, just to calm down and sleep. I'm taking 10mg right now but also added perpenazine, which made going down on zyprexa easyer.
