I've decided to get a second opinion from a new psychiatrist just starting out in private practice. She's been working at the Travis County jail after a previous doc killed an inmate.
I've said before that I like my doc and trust him but it can't hurt to get other feedback.
I'm in waiting mode for approval on SSDI(right)and my therapist told me that there's one doctor I'll continue to be able to see, him. He won't charge me.
I'm pretty freaked at having to wait 2+ years for Medicare and all the things you have to do to get meds, etc. Plus, no hospital coverage. It's a really bad system which is why Obama has my vote. At least he's trying to get people like me some help.

Two years? I had mine without attorney right away but that was l5 years ago now it's SSRI. Right doc filling in paper work correctly should get it neighbor just got in 9 months. Good luck Phillipa

You can get SSI if you are broke and you also get Medicare at that time.
If you're disabled but not broke(yet) you have to wait 2 years for Medicare. Is our system screwed up or what?
To get SSI you have to cash in any 401K. retirement plan, etc and spend all of it before you'll see SSI. Incredible.

Yes! Obama is great! Just wish I heard that more often. Ever since he started health care for everyone, I've heard storys of people thinking that obama care is raising health costs and cutting coverage, and so on. But I think it will lower costs and get coverage to everyone at a cost they can afford. So we don't have people showing up in the ER, for some thing that could have simply be fixed for a much lower cost and save lives. Just wish we didn't have to wait so long for it all to kick in.
