Abandoned Site

Posted by Phillipa on May 12, 2012, at 10:04:52

Amazing as for the first time babble is truly abandoned it seems like for the majority of posters. Have others found different sites? I know I use facebook a lot. Phillipa

Babble, as different as it is now compared to not long ago, still has its Babbleness. It's still unique and the other sites I've just aren't as good.

I go to all sorts of forums now. Drumming, Amy Winehouse. The mental stuff video's I watch on YouTube. Blogs. I love ask a patient. Always looking for info.

I don't know why I'm back. Sometimes when I add meds, my tastes change. Then I feel like being here. I just roll with it.

I do have the NFO site but don't read as scarey stuff. I do think there are branch off sites from here. Like on facebook lots just chat and no messages appear. I guess it's part of my ocd don't like change. So It's my problem. Only thing when do ebay I use the search bar on here. So hoping this site doesn't go under. Kind of selfish. Phillipa

Been playing drums since 17yo...41 years. Because of my disease I'll drop them for years. Right now I'm in playing mode. I'll try to upload some pics and post the link on Social.

It's not THAT bad!

Phillipa, you keep saying this! It's true that things aren't what they once were, but they seem to be fairly stable at a lower level of intensity and participation. One can still find both genuine support and valuable information here. In my brief forays into various Facebook sites, I haven't found anything comparable.

Honor and celebrate that which has been psychobabble
(cue bagpipes playing 'Danny boy')
It is with heavy hearts that we acknowledge the passing of an era, the psychobabble era
May we always keep the the values of civility and sensitivity close to our hearts.
Go in peace.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of med trials, I fear no side effects, for I shall be noncompliant. Thy donuts with thy seroquel shall comfort me.

It's not a regular week at Babble without a "BRING OUT YER DEAD" cry.

Is that a Monty python reference??
If it is:
"I'm getting better."
"No, you're not. You'll be stone dead in a minute."
"I'm so haaaaapppeee."
(poor old man knocked on head, thrown onto cart)
In the broadway version the dead get off the cart and do a dance number. It's great.

YES!
Closely followed by my second favourite, "it's only a flesh wound."

Not well choreographed but a great ensemble song from "Life of Brian"

Top
King Arthur: Old woman.
Dennis: Man.
King Arthur: Man, sorry. What knight lives in that castle over there?
Dennis: I'm 37.
King Arthur: What?
Dennis: I'm 37. I'm not old.
King Arthur: Well I can't just call you "man".
Dennis: Well you could say "Dennis".
King Arthur: I didn't know you were called Dennis.
Dennis: Well you didn't bother to find out did you?
King Arthur: I did say sorry about the "old woman", but from behind you looked...
Dennis: What I object to is you automatically treat me like an inferior.
King Arthur: Well I am king.
Dennis: Oh, king eh? Very nice. And how'd you get that, eh? By exploiting the workers. By hanging on to outdated imperialist dogma which perpetuates the economic and social differences in our society.

King Arthur: I am your king.
Woman: Well I didn't vote for you.
King Arthur: You don't vote for kings.
Woman: Well how'd you become king then?
[Angelic music plays... ]
King Arthur: The Lady of the Lake, her arm clad in the purest shimmering samite held aloft Excalibur from the bosom of the water, signifying by divine providence that I, Arthur, was to carry Excalibur. THAT is why I am your king.
Dennis: [interrupting] Listen, strange women lyin' in ponds distributin' swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony.

Dennis: Oh, but you can't expect to wield supreme executive power just because some watery tart threw a sword at you.

Dennis: Oh but if I went 'round sayin' I was Emperor, just because some moistened bint lobbed a scimitar at me, they'd put me away.
