Got a full bottle of soma here about two years old. Since it was prescribed for me for an addition to benzos for anxiety can I substitute it for benzos as doesn't it metabolize into Miltown, meprobamate? This is what first took all anxiety away the panic when in 20's the miltown and valium combo. Didn't give any problem discontinuing it just stopped it one day? Thanks Phillipa

I think it is good for some forms of pain...miltown is a strong muscle relaxer and an OK anti-anxiety drug. I'd take it. I mean, I'd low dose it and make sure I could get refills, but yeah, I'd take it.

I've never taken Soma or Miltown. What I read indicated that Miltown was safer than barbiturates in OD, but not much more potent. Benzos are much safer and also more potent.
