I'm at 300mg now and my pdoc told me to increase by 50mg every other day until I reach 500mg. I take Seroquel for treatment resistant depression and anxiety.

That seems like a very high dose. Are you on anything else? What else have you tried?

no I don't think so, I'm quitting clonazepam which gives all sorts of symptoms so it's a little hard to say. What main property of APs make them anxiolytic, is it D2 antagonism?

Hard to say, they are often not anxiolytic at all. The only APs I've taken have made me a lot more anxious! Never taken Seroquel though.
Why are you stopping clonazepam?

I'd consider taking the Seroquel in conjunction with an antidepressant (say effexor 150mg each morning)

I was given it once doc took me off next day almost fainted and couldn't talk no words would come out of mouth. Hated it!!! PJ

Wow, I hope your augmenting treatment with an antidepressant. What medications do you take?
Seroquel affects the NET (norepinephrine transport), so can have a positive effect on depression by elevating norepinephrine levels.
In studies, Seroquel has been shown to be an effective anxiolytic. I take it when I have mania and severe anxiety.

I believe it's the cause for making me treatment-resistant. The treatment-resistance and the initiation of clonazepam coincides anno 2001/2002.
