Posted by billy h3ll on November 15, 2011, at 9:03:50

im trying to figure out why i have spells of not being able to think and focus also my eyes focus upward, seems like it might be the haldol or maybe withdrawl from something or maybe my eyes just get tired cause if i can fall asleep for a few minutes it tends not to happen. sleep seems to cure it, anyway heres what i take:
paxil 30 @morning
valium 5 2x a day
haldol 5 2x a day
trileptal 600 2x a day
cogentin 1 @morning
seroquel 900@night
ambien 10@night

please help! i dont like feeling brainless

What is your diagnosis. You seem to be on quite a few high doses of strong meds? Phillipa

my diagnosis is schizoaffective bipolar type + antisocial personality disorder. but i think thats not accurate, more accurately my self diagnosis is hypomanic all the time naturally i dont get depressed for more than 5 minutes, never had a crash but ive cycled into manic many times hence the haldol 5 mg 2x plus a 100 mg shot every 4 wks
one doctor diagnosed me as having the ADHD of a teenager even though im 28 he said when someone seems hypomanic all the time its usually ADHD so who knows? ;>

you've been loaded up on antipsychotics. Can you find a doctor who will reduce your dose, especially of the haldol?

my doctor thinks im potentially violent. he wants me off haldol and onto more seroquel because he doesnt want me to get td, but hes very concerned about the safety of the other clients in the home i live in and he feels a huge dose of haldol is the safest thing for me to take at this point
i just cant stand the "fade-aways" where i cant think or remember anything until i force myself to sleep for God willing 5 minutes if im lucky

WHO WOULD HIRE A GUY THAT CANT THINK WITHOUT HIS 2:00 VALIUM NAP? :( ...IF i onlyyyy had a brain... (ill miss u most of all scarecrow)

do you HAVE to take what your doctor tells you to? I mean, it sounds like he's just putting you in a chemical straight jacket.

I think most people would have them on your medication. I don't think they will improve unless your meds are reduced.

Why does your doctor think you will be violent? Do you have a history of getting very aggressive?

maybe ur right guess theres nothing i can do but wait
ya i have a history of some violence my doctor just feels the haldol me is safer and nicer than the unmedicated hypomaniac me i might have adhd but im very impulsive i only lose control when i go manic

Hmm I don't know, your combination does not sound that safe to me, you are obviously having unpleasant side effects.

Once you are on these meds it can be really tough to get a doc to take you off. I would imagine this is due to liability concerns.
