Am I being paranoid?

Posted by Christ_empowered on October 16, 2011, at 6:41:37

I was thinking about my disability case today, and it occurred to me: what if my records were altered? I know that sounds crazy, but I filed a complaint with my state medical board against 1 psychiatrist. That shrink's lawyer got the board to insist that I get records from all my shrinks and therapists in that state. I can't imagine they were all that happy about answering a subpoena from the state medical board.

Also, when I got in legal trouble, all my shrinks and therapists were supposed to send in records. One hospital I was in for a bit refused to send in my records. I ended up getting everything dropped and then expunged, so its no big deal, but I was just thinking...

Considering how questionable the morals of psychiatrists are, don't you think it stands to reason that my records might have been "cleaned up" a little? I've heard of this happening when shrinks get sued.

Hi C_E.

If I may ask, what was expunged? How did you go about doing it? My records could use a thorough expunging.

Maybe only a little paranoid. You've been through a lot, for sure. But if it's a disability claim you're worried about, you need to hire an attorney that specializes in disability claims, and let them sort through it. A genuine disability can be supported. Your attorney may need to go back to past treatment providers to get documentation of the history of your disability - but considering the long duration of your difficulties, I would think it could be accomplished.

CE I feel Soltice is correct. You do have an attorney right? Have you told them of your concernss? Parents also? And remember it's hard to get Disability today. And get out today and enjoy some of this sun as colder next week!! Phillipa

Thanks, guys

Hey. The charge was Assault and Battery High and Aggravated, which at the time was "High Misdemeanor" in my State. Because of my relatively young age at the time (I was 24) and because it was my first offense, they sent me off to religious rehab then let me do counseling, dropped the charges, and charged bunches of money to get the dropped charges erased from record.

I don't have an attorney yet. I was hoping that with my record I could be one of the lucky ones to get it right off the bat. I'll get one soon.

And Phillipa, I will be spending some time outside today. How's the weather there?

Sorry late was out and in your state looking at cars as lease soon to run out and wore shorts. Heard sunny 80's tomorrow. Glad you were out. I was sure you would retain an attorney. Phillipa
