I do better on mild, wet and windy days. Yes . For some reason bright sunny days, hot or cold seem to put me in a funny mood.

No, you certainly need not. Vancouver, WA, here. (Although it's flippin' beautiful today...)

But then again, I love rain so I'm pretty much good to go.

It's been an exceptionally foggy cold summer, and it seems to have headed into a cold wet autumn. I am missing our hot, dry early fall!

This is typically a good time of year for me, and it's o.k, but I am feeling a light deficit already. I have thought about a lightbox for this winter.

I spent a summer in Northern Washington, (outside of Carnation) and the late summer evenings were gorgeous.
We wouldn't think about supper until 9:00 at night. The winter days must grow awfully short....

I don't care what it's like as long as it is not too humid, and especially not hot and humid.

It really affects me.

Dry heat is fine.
Cold dry weather is great.
Cool rain is nice too.

During the day...the weather only effects my energy level....however, in the AM....the light definitely determines whether or not I can motivate

What weather change?

It's hot. It's been hot forever (or at least nine or ten months) and it will be hot forever (with the exception of parts of December, January, and February). Hot seems to pull the energy from me.

I'm tired of hot. You can have it. Ten months of warm to hot to h*lls suburbs back to hot then warm.

Admittedly it was marginally less hot today, because of the clouds.

I sense it might be humid, too.

I almost had heat stroke driving through northern Missouri during the summer. That is the farthest south as I have been. That is the southern Midwest?

I discovered slurpees on that trip.

Is it really so hot all the time?

I never knew it was that hot for so many months. Personally love the heat or 85 degrees perfect and sun wind only 5-l0 miles an hour. I seem to crave the heat. Knowing that going outside can always wear shorts!!!!

Phillipa,

I'm with you on this one. Love the hot weather. Don't want it to change because I love being able to wear shorts and a shirt and flip-flops. The bright sun and feeling of summertime (here in Washington) give me a brighter outlook every year.

When I know it's ending, I digress. Just the past few years. If you lived here (tons of rain) for most of the year, I think you would too.

I have a seasonal affective disorder component to my depression, so yup.. trending down already =(
You could try a light box, might help a bit.

Mood is getting worse as Fall is upon us and days getting shorter, Phillipa. I live in New England and the summers are very short :(

I hate winter, and even Fall. I only like spring/summer. Guess I need to move ;)

I can answer that now. It was coolish for a few days, and I feel better than well.

I think I hibernate in summer. My body functions at the lowest possible rpm to conserve heat.

I need to lose weight before next spring.

Conserve heat isn't right.

Not produce extra heat is better.

Since I hit a certain age, I process heat worse than ever.

On the other hand, my feet are *already* cold. I think I need larger thermal socks. The ones I have make my feet swell.

I wonder if they make a heated sack for my feet. Maybe one for toy dogs who hate the cold.
