What is the Tegretol meant to treat?

Carbamazepine is used to calm emotions, otherwise it is prescribing for epilepsy. It is a harmless drug in this combination.

Harmless? - Agranulocytosis.

Many people feel foggy, sedated, and numb on carbamazepine (Tegretol). If this is of benefit to you, then you might be taking the right drug for yourself. Carbamazepine is used for pathological anger and impulse control. Oxcarbazepine (Tileptal) is just as effective for these conditions, but lacks the cognitive side effects and risk of developing agranuolocytosis.

Perhaps Zoloft would be a better drug for you than Prozac if anger is a problem.
