I take 600'mgs and so far it doesn't seem to help me with anything. It supposed to be a mood stabilizer. I want to ask my doctor to get off it.

i'm trying it at 800 now as have been on it for 3 years ....can no longer do lithium ----hated depakote am using lamictal now...won't help mania though..........can't use a typicals because diabetic.....am on 60 cymbalta/100lamictal/800 tegretol/1.5 klonopin...for ocd ...whats one to do...don't feel bad just have awefull racing thoughts at time along with anxiety

Were you on 600mgs just recently? I also have racing thoughts and anxiety. I really need to get an ad on board to help with that and severe depression. I'm thinking about asking for viibryd.

400 for about 2 years---6oo for about a year now 8oo people think i'm forget full but with ocd and bipolar its the racing thoughts that cause the forgetfullness............after 800 on to something different......klonopin helps but too tired and wears off and makes youu slightly depressed can the med. not familiar with the med you referred to

Cj, the racing thoughts are also killing me. I thought maybe an ad would help with that. I'm finding it very difficult to work.

I havent worked for years now officially just ebay stuff. But is forgetfulness and mind always busy and not able to sit still but tire easy considered racing thoughts? Mind goes from one thought to another. Phillipa

thanx at least i'm not alone --i too have lost jobs...because of it being very hard to concentrate and the ocd doesn't help but i try to stay positive ..just tuff.....are any of you on disability

crazy joe, did lithium help at all with racing thoughts or anxiety? I either have to get off this tegretol or add something to it. I have this constant teeth clenching and inability to sit still. I don't know what to ask for. AP's are out because of td so all i really have is lithium or an antidepressant. Maybe this is leftover td symptoms? anyone with suggestions?

i did ok on lithium at higher doses....but was on luvox 300mg and ativan also......had to stop lithium at the recommendation of a kidney dr. had been on it about 8 years some of those years at 1800mg....are you saying that tegretol mages you fidgety and doesn't calm you?

Thats what I'm not sure about. I have extreme anxiety and I thought tegretol has anti anxiety properties. Do you think tegretol helps with your anxiety at all? Do you think adding an ad might?

also mark what amount of tegretol do you take and when do you dose....sometimes tegretol needs to be increased as its level can drop over time ,,,so maybe your dose needs adjusting

bipolar 2...whenever i'm on an ssri/ssnri... my dr makes sure i am on a mood stabilizer...right now tegretol and lamictal....and klonopin for sleep and .5 if needed in the day...its hard to treat bipolar and ocd....trust me 2 meds won't do it

I'm giving viiryd a try. I need something for depression and anxiety. I hope it's not activating as I have found some ssri's. I'll let you know how it goes.

My insurance covers some of it. I don't really know what my doctor thinks of it but he seems to be willing to try Anything at this point. He says it's like zoloft and buspar. I just hope it works.
