Lamictal or Dexedrine caused waves?

Posted by alchemy on September 21, 2011, at 15:48:00

This was over a year ago & I've probably posted about what I call my "waves". They are like a quick mood dip, varying in intensity. They may be 10 min apart, or constant.
Dexedrine = bad for mood swings
Lamictal = stabilizer
They began a few months after starting Dexedrine, but I noticed from what I logged, it was right after increasing Lamictal to 400- like within the week.
I often have a paradoxical reaction to meds. I got more depressed on Thyroid! My dr. thinks i'm an odd case.
When I did a trial of natural Progesterone (tests shows that my estrogen was super high). That started a whole new kind of wavy-weirdness that continued after I stopped the Progesterone.
My recent ect round seems to have gotten rid of them (thank god). I always thought they had some kind of seizure mis-firing component.
But yesterday I wondered if they were coming back.
Lamictal also seems to screw around with my hormones.

So, I would like some opinions. The text book answer would be Dex. But the timing points more to Lamictal.

Thyroid med synthroid gives me bad dreams. Just thought would share you are not the one that thyroid med makes feel worse. Not in beginning though worked fine but that was before adding an ad. Phillipa

Alchemy,

How long have you been back at 400 Lamictal?

And how does that timing coincide with your dexedrine consumption?

Could it be at the highest lamictal?

So, you say it's difficult to pinpoint because lamictal at 400 happened pretty much simultaneously as the introduction of dexedrine?

Thinking about this.....
