Zoloft to cymbalta -methadone

Posted by Culie74 on September 19, 2011, at 21:18:46

I have been on and off meds for anxiety for 15 years. After a recent death, actually 2 deaths in my immediate family and I divorce, I find myself spiraling straight to the dark bed room and tv. My psych has hence switched me from zoloft to cybalta. So far a bit of sweating and fatigue. Can this drug pop me outa of my lazy, uncaring negative attitude. It's been so hard to move everyday without stimulant diet pills.... Mind u I am losing 0 weight. I have been on it for 7 days.... When will I know if this is the med I need. Anxiety has been 0, but depression and fatigue are still present. Anyone, anything. I was taking methadone for quite some time for cronic pain. It seemed to be the best thing for all my issues 5mg. I have since discontinued because of it's narcotic properties. Are the long term uses of methadone any worse than the long term use of cymbalta? Help

Hey. Is pain an ongoing issue for you? I hate to say "take the pills!," but pain can cause and/or exacerbate depression. Also, pain killers such as Methdone can be used to treat depression. If I had the option, I'd personally probably go for a pain killer over a reuptake inhibitor, such as zoloft or cymbalta. That's me, though.

What kind of diet pills are you taking? Some of them have been used for depression, just like Adderall, Ritalin, Dexedrine, Desoxyn, and Vyvanse (Rx stimulants officially approved for ADHD and narcolepsy) have been used to treat various forms of depression.

I hope things get better for you. Please keep us posted.

My gut feel is hat you're more likely to get a robust response from an SSRI plus Welbutrin than from Cymbalta, but everyone is individual.

If you dont feel releif after 4-6 weeks on Cymbalta, ask your doc if you can swich to an SSRI plus Welbutrin

The pain is primarily related to horse back riding. Doc took me off them....which kinda sucked for a few days. I just can't emphasize enough the mental stress reliever that methadone gives me. It was almost like a miracle drug for all my psych issues. The diet pill I uses is is phentrimine. It gets me going, but poops out early. Will psych docs prescribe methadone for GAD and depression? Would that be a bad idea. My pain seems to be in control....but my brain is a no go!!!

5mg/d methadone is pretty benign.
